Slay, Queen! Michelle Obama Readies Her Best Beyoncé Look In Birthday Ode

Just when you may have thought the 36th birthday celebrations for Beyoncé could get any more iconic, Michelle Obama just slayed us all!

The former first lady drew major attention Monday, Sept. 4 when she appeared dressed as Queen Bey in her now-legendary “Formation” hat and braids. The image was part of a photo collage on the singer’s website which served as a happy birthday message from family and friends. Each woman (and child), including Beyoncé’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter, mother Tina Knowles Lawson and friend Serena Williams, donned a hat, braids and ornate jewelry in black-and-white photos.

While everyone looked absolutely flawless, it was Obama who set social media users’ tongue’s wagging.

It’s no secret that Obama and Bey have developed a bond over the years. Beyoncé performed at former President Barak Obama’s second inauguration and sang Etta James’ “At Last” during the couple’s first dance in 2009.
