The Women Of Wakanda Are Getting Their Own Spin-Off Comic

The women of Wakanda were King T’Challa’s backbone in Black Panther, and now they are getting their own spin-off comic. The Dora Milaje will be have be branching off in Wakanda Forever: The Amazing Spiderman. The three-part comic will follow the warriors Aneka, Okoye and Ayo as they investigate a threat to national security in New York City. Along the way, they end up bumping into Peter Parker.

Sci-fi and fantasy author Nnedi Okorafor promises that Wakanda Forever will add more depth to the trio and show their more vulnerable sides.

“I’m always interested in a challenge, so writing a narrative where it doesn’t feel heavy-handed but I can develop the characters through little subtle things [creates] my favorite moments,” Okorafor told Vogue. “You feel that you can relate to these characters, and feel they are real, not just..
