Franchesca Ramsey Becomes Comedy Central’s 1st Black Female Host

Franchesca Ramsey, the comedian, writer, actress, and host of MTV’s vlog Decoded, made history Tuesday when Comedy Central announced that she will become the first black woman to host a pilot on the network.

The former correspondent on Comedy Central’s The Nightly Show will executive produce and host a show featuring diverse comedic voices, brutal comedy and hilarious takes on cultural and social issues. Currently known as The Untitled Franchesca Ramsey Project, the pilot is sure to capitalize on Ramsey’s penchant for inducing white tears.

Ramsey burst onto the scene in the 2012 viral video “Shit White Girls Say … to Black Girls,” which was viewed more than 1 million times in 24 hours and 5 million times in five days while making a lot of white women’s mascara run. She has been featured on MSNBC, ABC, the Daily Mail, Anderson Cooper’s daytime show and The Root.
