Red-Carpet Roundup: It’s All Love at the iHeartRadio Awards (With a Healthy Dose of Cardi B)

Working in digital media as a middle-aged person can be challenging. After all, there’s a constant need to know what the kids are into these days, and without kids of my own, it can be tough. Thankfully, we’ve got the annual iHeartRadio Awards to tell us old heads who’s hot and who’s on the come up.
In fact, last night’s awards show, which took place at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif., could be considered the baby of all the music awards shows, as this year’s ceremony was only its fifth. Launched in 2014, the iHeartRadio Awards celebrate the most popular performers of each year (which totally sets it apart from other awards shows) based on cumulative performance data and listener feedback.
This year’s ceremony was co-hosted by model/celebrity spawn Hailey Baldwin and DJ Khaled (yes, Asahd was there). You can catch the entire list of winners here, but it’s safe to say that the big winner of the night was everyone’s favorite regular, degular, schmegular Cinderella story Cardi B, who not only snagged best new artist and best new hip-hop artist wins but also opened the show with a medley of her greatest hits (yes, I know—I was confused by that concept, too, but then I remembered that …
