Black Cosmetic Chemist Launches New Online Skin Directory Aimed at Giving Women of Color Access to Quality Skin Care
Nuekie, a skin care company for people of color, is delighted to announce the launch of the Nuekie Skin of Color Directory. The aim of the exclusive online directory is to provide women of color with access to the finest skin care services regardless of their location within the United States.
The online resource was created by Eunice Cofie-Obeng, a cosmetic chemist and esthetician, after surveying women of color and learning that many of them could not find a skin care professional who specialized in ethnic skin. Some of these women had even been turned away because the skin care professional didn’t know how to treat their skin.
Women of color deal with unique skin issues in comparison to those with Caucasian skin. This is due to the fact that there is a significant amount of melanin found in their skin and there are differences in the structure and function of ethnic skin. Some of the common skin care concerns women of color have include acne and hyperpigmentation which requires a level of expertise that very few estheticians possess. This is where the directory will prove invaluable.
Eunice Cofie-Obeng said, “As a woman of color, I fully understand the challenges that we face when it comes to getting professional skin care treatments for our skin. Delivering the best quality skin care to women of color has been a passion of mine for many years. This has been the driving force behind the creation of the directory, as I want everyone to have access to quality skin care.” Women of color will now have confidence in knowing they are connecting with skin care professionals who understand the skin they are in.
The new directory consists of a curated list of highly-qualified skin care professionals, who through a vetted application process, demonstrate their experience and expertise with ethnic skin.
