Sharon Reed Rightfully Puts Racist Viewer In Her Place: “You Think It’s Okay To Call This Journalist A Ni–er; I Don’t”

White people tend to be a little dense when it comes to Black people trying to expose their many microaggressions and outright racist actions which is why, I imagine, journalist Sharon Reed decided to call out a racist viewer by name on CBS46 last night and put the hate-filled email she was sent on screen.

A woman named Kathy Rae took issue with the way in which the Atlanta news anchor discussed the mayoral election that took place in her city which resulted in the white candidate, Mary Norwood, requesting a recount after polls determined just 800 votes separated her from the declared victor Keisha Lance Bottoms, a Black woman. And it’s one that has clearly entered the Atlanta mayor’s race.”

As for the viewer, Reed continued, “So I won’t mischaracterize your view either, Kathy Rae,. I get it. On Dec. 5, 2017, you think it’s OK to call this journalist a ni–er. I don’t. But I could clap back and say a few things to you. But instead, I’ll let your words, Kathy Rae, speak for themselves. And that’ll be the last word.”

Reed shared the clip of her response on her Facebook page, marking it as “Just another day at the …
